When doctors at a prominent New York hospital diagnosed a newborn with a very rare and serious lung malformation that puts the baby’s life in grave danger, the parents anxiously turned to VitalOne. The baby was not doing well. Her lungs were not working properly and her blood oxygen level "crashed" several times, dropping to dangerously low numbers.
VitalOne stepped in immediately and arranged to have the infant airlifted by airborne neonatal ICU to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. A neonatal team, consisting of a doctor, a neonatal intensive care unit nurse and a respiratory therapist was on board.
After a 25 minute flight, the baby arrived at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, which is rated as the number one pediatric hospital in the United States. The team of specialists at the Children's Hospital's Division of Neonatology and Newborn/Infant ICU is ranked number one in prestigious reports.
Thanks to VitalOne’s intervention, the baby received emergency care that saved her life. |
